However, it opens the company up to an entirely new market - air travel. The Honda F2 Aircraft completed months of testing, bringing it one step closer to certification of the HondaJet program.

A country with over one billion people, China, has (not surprisingly) some of the lowest air quality on the planet. In order to help combat this, Honda Motor Co. is shipping over three new 'green' variants of their models for 2012.

Two possible variants headed to Chinese dealers could include Honda Civic CNG (compressed natural gas), and the Honda Fit EV, which is available only in Japan at this time.

A survey from the US Green Building Council found that Honda's Torrance, CA HQ, along with several other facilities in the United States and Canada, are "Green Building" approved.

It's not the first time Honda has received such honors - the company's first LEED-certified building was named in 1999 - the Gresham, OR parts and service facility.

The Honda Insight and CR-Z hybrids have also been named some of the greenest cars on the road today. It's no wonder the factories where these cars are built at prior to delivery at Honda of Bartlesville in Bartlesville, OK, are…
