The New Honda Pilot in Bartlesville, OK | Honda of Bartlesville

See why the three-row Honda Pilot is so popular with families

The three-row crossover segment is unique, versatile, and the Honda Pilot is a proud contender in the field. It's a great option for families who need more cargo space than the Honda CR-V can provide, occasionally need more than five total seats to get around Bartlesville, but don't necessarily need something as large as a minivan. Today, we'll look at the model's engine performance and cargo space, safety features, and dive into the various trims you can showoff around Tulsa. Ready? Let's begin!

Performance and Space

The Honda Pilot is available in several trims and all come with a 3.5L V6 engine that produces 280 horsepower, 262 lb-ft torque, and when properly equipped can tow up to 3,500 pounds. This midsize option seats eight on all trims except the Elite which has second-row captain's chairs and seats seven.

With all seats up, the Pilot has 16.5 cubic feet behind the third-row, which, for reference, is what you'd find on the Honda Accord. Since the majority of Pilot drivers mostly use the third-row for special occasions (like helping the baseball team carpool around Owasso), you can fold that row down and get 46.8 cubic feet of space. If you need the entire back you'll have 83.9 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. To put it into perspective, the Pilot gives drivers more cargo space on each row than the three-row Hyundai Santa Fe!

Safety Features

Because this is such a family-focused vehicle, it makes sense that Honda would give Pilot shoppers options for advanced safety technologies that provide added confidence regardless of if they're in familiar Claremore or driving out of state to visit family. Depending on which trim you choose, you may have available or standard Honda Sensing® and get the following features:

  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Road Departure Mitigation
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Collision Braking System
  • Forward Collision Warning

There are a few other advanced safety highlights sprinkled throughout the lineup, and even if you don't choose a Pilot with Honda Sensing® you will get a standard backup camera for safer reversing and Bluetooth technology so you don't need to fiddle with your phone if a call comes in.

Meet the Options

The Pilot has five trims: LX, EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. On the base level you'll get the rearview camera, Bluetooth, and push button start. This option is great for shoppers on a budget, but if you have more financial flexibility, or simply want a few more creature comforts, we suggest starting with the EX trim.

The EX has Intelligent Traction Management, fog lights, a smart key, useful Honda LaneWatch™ camera on the passenger side, and tri-zone climate control. Convenience amenities include a 10-way power seat for the driver, 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ technology, and starting at this level you can add on Honda Sensing®.

You might have correctly guessed that the "L" in the EX-L trim stands for leather, but this trim offers more than a fancy upholstery upgrade for the seats, steering wheel, and shift knob. You'll also get a sunroof and heated-front seats to enjoy depending on the season, and if you have full hands and kids not big enough to help you'll love the power liftgate. This trim also has a lot of available add-ons. Aside from Honda Sensing®, you can get navigation and/or a Blu-Ray® player to keep backseat occupants quiet on longer drives.

Here at Honda of Bartlesville the Touring and Elite trims tend to be favorites and both have standard Honda Sensing®. The Touring has a 9-speed transmission, paddle-shifters, useful roof rails just waiting for a Genuine Honda Accessory bike rack or cargo box, and a 2-position memory setting for the driver. The Elite brings it all home with a panoramic roof, blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, LED lights, a heated steering wheel, and refined perforated leather seats!
